La 2G des ann\u00e9es 90 a apport\u00e9 digitalisation, SMS et Data. La 3G des ann\u00e9es 2000 a am\u00e9lior\u00e9 les d\u00e9bits Data et ainsi permis le d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019internet mobile et de la vid\u00e9o.<\/p>\n<p>Avec l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de la \u00ab\u00a04G\u00a0\u00bb, les op\u00e9rateurs nous promettent une nouvelle r\u00e9volution.<\/p>\n<p>S\u2019agira-t-il d\u2019une r\u00e9volution technologique\u00a0ou d\u2019une r\u00e9volution des usages\u00a0? Peut-elle bouleverser les rapports de force entre les quatre op\u00e9rateurs?<\/p>\n<h2>Une explosion annonc\u00e9e des d\u00e9bits<\/h2>\n<p>Les 4 principaux apports de la 4G, bas\u00e9e sur la norme LTE (Long Term Evolution), se concentrent sur la Data\u00a0:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>Les d\u00e9bits th\u00e9oriques sont sup\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 100Mb\/s (descendant) contre 14Mb\/s pour la 3G-HSPA.<\/li>\n<li>La latence est nettement r\u00e9duite (20ms A\/R) contre 100 ms pour la 3G.<\/li>\n<li>La prise en charge de la qualit\u00e9 de service diff\u00e9renci\u00e9e permet de prioriser un type de flux ou un client.<\/li>\n<li>La mobilit\u00e9 inter-cellules est am\u00e9lior\u00e9e \u00e0 grande vitesse\u00a0: l\u2019utilisation &#8220;efficace&#8221; \u00a0et fluide de son mobile dans le train n&#8217;est plus si loin\u00a0!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p>Avec de telles avanc\u00e9es, on peut s\u2019attendre \u00e0 un confort comparable voire sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 une connexion ADSL grand public \u2013 sur un mobile\u00a0!<\/p>\n<h2>Des investissements cons\u00e9quents encore n\u00e9cessaires au d\u00e9ploiement de la 4G<\/h2>\n<p>Ces avanc\u00e9es restent encore th\u00e9oriques au vu des investissements n\u00e9cessaires au d\u00e9ploiement de cette nouvelle technologie<\/p>\n<p>En France, l\u2019<a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Autorit%C3%A9_de_r%C3%A9gulation_des_communications_%C3%A9lectroniques_et_des_postes\">ARCEP<\/a> a attribu\u00e9 fin 2011 les licences 4G aux op\u00e9rateurs. Les ench\u00e8res ont rapport\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9tat plus de 3,5 milliards d\u2019euros.<\/p>\n<p>Mais l\u2019utilisation des nouvelles fr\u00e9quences 4G (800 MHz et 2600 MHz) impose le d\u00e9ploiement d\u2019un nouveau r\u00e9seau d\u2019antennes sur le territoire fran\u00e7ais, ce qui repr\u00e9sente un co\u00fbt particuli\u00e8rement important (g\u00e9nie civil, main d\u2019\u0153uvre\u2026).<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9cemment, \u00a0l\u2019ARCEP a r\u00e9pondu favorablement \u00e0 la demande de Bouygues Telecom de r\u00e9utiliser la fr\u00e9quence 2G (1800 MHz) pour proposer \u00e0 ses clients de la 4G. Les op\u00e9rateurs concurrents contestent cette d\u00e9cision objectant une distorsion de concurrence.<\/p>\n<p>En effet, cette d\u00e9cision va \u00a0permettra \u00e0 Bouygues Telecom d\u2019am\u00e9liorer sa couverture 4G d\u00e8s Octobre 2013 et de proposer une offre 4G compatible avec l\u2019iPhone 5 (terminal ne fonctionnant pas en 4G sur les fr\u00e9quences 800 MHz et 2600 MHz) sans pour autant d\u00e9ployer de nouvelles antennes<\/p>\n<h2>Une couverture limit\u00e9e \u00e0 ce jour<\/h2>\n<p>Le d\u00e9ploiement de la 4G a \u00e9t\u00e9 assez timide en 2012, chacun des 3 op\u00e9rateurs \u00ab\u00a0historiques\u00a0\u00bb couvrant une \u00e0 quelques villes. Une fois n\u2019est pas coutume, en raison de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 y d\u00e9ployer de nouvelles antennes, les premiers \u00eelots de couverture \u00e0 Paris n\u2019ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en service qu\u2019au d\u00e9but 2013 \u2013 soit apr\u00e8s la couverture des premi\u00e8res villes\u00a0 en province<\/p>\n<p>Orange a commercialis\u00e9 une offre entreprise d\u00e8s novembre 2012 ; SFR a quant \u00e0 lui \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier \u00e0 commercialiser des offres grand public, suivi r\u00e9cemment par Bouygues Telecom et Orange.<\/p>\n<p>La 4G est une opportunit\u00e9 pour les trois op\u00e9rateurs historiques d\u2019apporter de la valeur \u00e0 leurs clients et d\u2019am\u00e9liorer des marges malmen\u00e9es depuis l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de Free sur le march\u00e9 du mobile.<\/p>\n<h2>D\u2019abord le confort des utilisateurs, en attendant de nouveaux usages<\/h2>\n<p>Pour le grand public, outre un confort nettement am\u00e9lior\u00e9, l\u2019essor des applications temps r\u00e9el est pr\u00e9visible\u00a0: appel vid\u00e9o, streaming vid\u00e9o, jeux en ligne&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>C\u00f4t\u00e9 entreprises, la 4G est une opportunit\u00e9 pour les DSI d\u2019\u00e9toffer leur catalogue de services\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L\u2019environnement de travail des utilisateurs en situation de mobilit\u00e9 sera enrichi\u00a0; on pourrait m\u00eame aller jusqu\u2019\u00e0 envisager la mise \u00e0 disposition d\u2019un bureau virtuel complet (applications, visioconf\u00e9rence, communications unifi\u00e9es).<\/li>\n<li>Les offres de Cloud se voient offertes de nouvelles perspectives. Elles seront accessibles avec des performances comparables via l\u2019ensemble des terminaux utilisateurs.<\/li>\n<li>Enfin, la 4G sera une solution alternative performante aux connexions filaires, en particulier pour des raccordements transitoires de site ou en solution de secours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>En conclusion\u2026 une avanc\u00e9e technologique dont les entreprises doivent tirer parti<\/h2>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 quelques freins (notamment le rythme de d\u00e9ploiement par les op\u00e9rateurs), la 4G appara\u00eet comme une tr\u00e8s belle avanc\u00e9e technologique.<\/p>\n<p>La 4G va dans un premier temps am\u00e9liorer le confort et l\u2019exp\u00e9rience utilisateur et d\u00e9clencher \u00e0 terme de nouveaux usages.<\/p>\n<p>Comment les entreprises peuvent-elles tirer parti de la 4G\u00a0?
