Des <i>Google Glass<\/i> \u00e0 l\u2019Apple Watch, les objets connect\u00e9s se multiplient, toujours plus innovants. En 2020, ils seront au nombre de 80 milliards pour un march\u00e9 estim\u00e9 par le cabinet Gartner \u00e0 1900 milliards de dollars. Des chiffres vertigineux qui laissent entrevoir un march\u00e9 plus que prometteur.<\/p>\n<p>Pour les assureurs, les objets connect\u00e9s sont bien plus qu\u2019une mode, ils constituent un gisement de croissance \u00e0 exploiter. Car ces objets se d\u00e9veloppent sur trois de leurs march\u00e9s cl\u00e9s : celui des transports et de la mobilit\u00e9\u00a0(s\u00e9curit\u00e9, contr\u00f4le et suivi de la conduite&#8230;), celui de l\u2019habitation\u00a0(\u00e9quipements, \u00e9nergie, s\u00e9curit\u00e9, confort\u2026) et celui de la Sant\u00e9 et des Wearables (sport, suivi physiologique\u2026).<\/p>\n<h2>Objets connect\u00e9s\u00a0: de nombreuses opportunit\u00e9s\u2026<\/h2>\n<p><b>Tout d\u2019abord, am\u00e9liorer l\u2019image de marque. <\/b>En d\u00e9veloppant de nouvelles offres en phase avec les innovations digitales, les assureurs vont ind\u00e9niablement moderniser leur image aux yeux du grand public. Ceux qui proposeront des objets connect\u00e9s seront aussi per\u00e7us comme \u00e9tant plus attentifs \u00e0 leurs clients. En effet, les objets connect\u00e9s permettent de proposer aux assur\u00e9s de v\u00e9ritables services. L\u2019exemple des lentilles intelligentes d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es par Google et Novartis est r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur : en mesurant la pr\u00e9sence de glucose dans le liquide lacrymal, ces lentilles permettront aux diab\u00e9tiques de mesurer en temps r\u00e9el leur taux de glyc\u00e9mie. Dans le domaine de l\u2019assurance sant\u00e9, c\u2019est donc l\u2019occasion pour eux de sortir d\u2019un simple r\u00f4le d\u2019indemnisation (auquel les r\u00e9centes \u00e9volutions de la r\u00e8glementation pourraient les cantonner), sans v\u00e9ritable levier de diff\u00e9renciation, pour proposer de nouveaux services et accompagner leurs assur\u00e9s tout au long du parcours de soins. Ils d\u00e9velopperont ainsi la relation de confiance qu\u2019ils entretiennent avec ces derniers. De quoi vaincre certaines r\u00e9ticences, c\u00f4t\u00e9 client, dans l\u2019utilisation des objets connect\u00e9s ?<\/p>\n<p><b>Ensuite, attirer de nouveaux clients. <\/b>Les assureurs peuvent aussi exploiter les objets connect\u00e9s pour stimuler la consommation en renouvelant leurs offres sur des march\u00e9s matures (automobile, habitation, etc.). C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs ce qu\u2019a choisi de faire Allianz, en lan\u00e7ant avec TomTom son syst\u00e8me Pay how you drive, qui permet \u00e0 l\u2019assur\u00e9 de payer en fonction de son contexte de conduite (routes emprunt\u00e9es, conditions de trafic&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p><b>Mais aussi, d\u00e9velopper la connaissance client. <\/b>L\u2019une des grandes opportunit\u00e9s offertes aux assureurs par les objets connect\u00e9s est de mieux conna\u00eetre les comportements et habitudes de leurs clients, en collectant une immense quantit\u00e9 de donn\u00e9es (Big Data). Le Health Patch de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Vital Connect fournit par exemple \u00e0 l\u2019usager un grand nombre d\u2019indicateurs physiologiques, comme le rythme cardiaque ou encore le niveau de stress. Mais l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat des objets connect\u00e9s ne r\u00e9side pas seulement dans l\u2019immense quantit\u00e9 de donn\u00e9es qu\u2019ils collectent. Ils en facilitent \u00e9galement l\u2019exploitation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des capteurs d\u00e9di\u00e9s qui enregistrent des informations sp\u00e9cifiques. En recourant \u00e0 ces technologies, les assureurs pourraient segmenter plus finement leurs portefeuilles et donc proposer des offres commerciales mieux cibl\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p><b>Enfin, optimiser la gestion des risques.<\/b> Les objets connect\u00e9s peuvent \u00e9galement permettre aux assureurs de r\u00e9duire leurs co\u00fbts en axant davantage leurs offres sur la pr\u00e9vention des risques et \u00e9galement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une intervention plus rapide et plus efficace des services d\u2019assistance. Des \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui auront pour impact \u00e9vident de r\u00e9duire le nombre de sinistres et de limiter les dommages et leur co\u00fbt en cas de sinistre. On peut citer en exemple la cam\u00e9ra de vid\u00e9osurveillance d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise Kiwatch qui permet un acc\u00e8s direct aux vid\u00e9os depuis un terminal connect\u00e9 \u00e0 internet : les utilisateurs peuvent donc savoir en temps r\u00e9el si leur domicile ne subit pas d\u2019effraction\u2026 m\u00eame s\u2019ils sont \u00e0 l\u2019autre bout de la plan\u00e8te. Autrement dit : pr\u00e9venir plut\u00f4t que gu\u00e9rir.<\/p>\n<h2>Des opportunit\u00e9s sources de d\u00e9fis consid\u00e9rables<\/h2>\n<p>D\u00e9velopper des offres reposant sur le march\u00e9 des objets connect\u00e9s remet en cause le m\u00e9tier traditionnel des assureurs, historiquement centr\u00e9 sur une offre de services, \u00e0 savoir l\u2019indemnisation des sinistres. L\u2019adaptation au \u00ab\u00a0tout connect\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb implique une modification profonde du business model classique des assureurs.<\/p>\n<p>Quelles propositions de valeur pour les assureurs\u00a0? Comment gagner en l\u00e9gitimit\u00e9\u00a0? Quels r\u00f4les pour les assureurs, quelles strat\u00e9gies de partenariats, quels \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes construire et comment les animer\u00a0? Quel marketing en rupture pour ces nouvelles offres\u00a0? Comment relever les d\u00e9fis technologiques, passer du gadget \u00e0 un service industriel\u00a0? Par ailleurs, la collecte massive de donn\u00e9es \u00e0 caract\u00e8re personnel g\u00e9n\u00e8re des inqui\u00e9tudes l\u00e9gitimes. Surtout lorsqu\u2019il s\u2019agit de donn\u00e9es de sant\u00e9\u00a0! Les r\u00e9seaux permettant la collecte des donn\u00e9es sont-ils vraiment s\u00e9curis\u00e9s\u00a0? La l\u00e9gislation actuelle garantit-elle le respect des principes \u00e9thiques dans l\u2019exploitation des donn\u00e9es\u00a0? Les assureurs doivent s\u2019interroger\u00a0: comment cr\u00e9er un climat de confiance avec leurs clients\u00a0?<\/p>\n<p>Autant de questions qui laissent penser que si les opportunit\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques sont immenses, les d\u00e9fis qu\u2019elles impliquent le sont tout autant. Face \u00e0 un march\u00e9 en pleine construction, les assureurs devront faire preuve d\u2019audace mais aussi de prudence.<\/p>\n<p><i>En d\u00e9pit des risques, il est \u00e9vident que les assureurs doivent prendre position sur ce nouveau march\u00e9 s\u2019ils ne veulent pas se retrouver progressivement marginalis\u00e9s et cantonn\u00e9s au r\u00f4le de \u00ab payeur \/ indemnisateur \u00bb. D\u2019autres acteurs, dot\u00e9s de moyens parfois consid\u00e9rables se positionnent d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur ce march\u00e9.
